Privacy Principles
100% Local Processing
All supported prompts and files are analyzed locally. Nothing leaves the user's device.
No Data Collection
PromptVerify does not collect prompts, source code, uploaded files, API keys, passwords, tokens, email addresses, or any personal information.
No Tracking
No analytics, no advertising trackers, no telemetry, no behavioral monitoring — ever.
Built for Developers
PromptVerify helps developers prevent accidental exposure of sensitive information before sharing content with AI assistants.
Chrome Permissions
Every permission we request, and exactly why it's needed.
storageStores extension preferences locally.
activeTabUsed only to read the URL of the currently active tab when the user opens the extension popup, so the popup can display which supported site is active. Content script access to supported AI sites is granted separately and explicitly via Host Permissions, not activeTab.
Host PermissionsUsed only on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, and Perplexity. PromptVerify never accesses unrelated websites.
Data Usage
- PromptVerify does not sell user data.
- PromptVerify does not share user data with third parties.
- PromptVerify does not upload prompts or supported files.
- All supported scanning happens locally inside the browser.
Data Retention
PromptVerify does not retain any prompt content, file content, or scan results beyond the local device. Detection settings and preferences are stored locally via Chrome's storage API and can be cleared at any time from the extension's options page.
